When does a point sparring match end for all non-black-belt divisions?

After two minutes. If the score is tied at the two minute mark, then the match goes into sudden death and the first competitor to score a point wins.

When the first competitor reaches five points. If both competitors reach five points at the same time, the match goes into sudden death with the next point winning.

When either one competitor has reached five points OR at the end of two minutes, whichever comes first. If the match is tied when it is supposed to end, then it goes into sudden death and the next person to score wins.

For adult (18 and older) black belts, when does a match end?

When filling out brackets for sparring, which of the following is the best approach?

Look for the guide / example brackets at the table and follow that. Send a runner to get help if you are unsure of anything.

Just pick a place on the bracket and starting writing competitors' names. It will all work out.
